Setting Intentions
This is an area I am still exploring and testing on myself, but here is what I have discovered so far…
Clear intentions are essential to creating a life you love and deserve. Not to be confused with wishing, hoping, list writing or New Years Resolutions, intentions are clear, detailed statements about what you desire and deserve in your life. They fully and completely describe, not only where you want to be, but how you will feel when you get there. It can also be a way of mentally setting ourselves up for using or working with something like social media or driving.
Whether we are aware of it or not, we are continually sending and receiving information into the universe as frequencies. Thoughts, emotions and words are frequencies. Our nervous system, aura, chakras, electromagnetic field, intuition and senses interact with the exterior world in a way we can feel one way or another, even if they are subtle. Even our internal emotions, thoughts, words and unconscious intentions are broadcast into the world. A thought is not only a thing; a thought is a thing that influences other things and emotions are like thoughts and words on steroids. As technology advances, science is able to measure and understand more of our unseen world. Lynne McTaggart as been working with scientists to explore the healing powers of mass intention.
Lynne McTaggart’s work
Her courses are backed by science to help understand intention and power of 8 groups to have multiple people focusing their intention on individuals, share intentions and keep people conscious of their intentions.
- Your thoughts are not your brain: Astonishing evidence demonstrates that consciousness is ‘out there,’ not inside your head – one reason that thoughts have such power.
- How focused thoughts can shift matter: from machines to human beings, and why we’re having an effect on everything around us at all times.
- You’re a walking Metronome: Your body synchronises with others – your brainwaves, your heart rate, your breathing, and more when you send thoughts to others.
- Smart, but Dumb: Amazingly, our otherwise sophisticated brain cannot distinguish between an action and a thought, but we can capitalise on this phenomenon to heal every aspect of our lives.
- You’re on constant broadcast: You’re broadcasting – and affecting things outside yourself – 24/7, almost always with negative or judgmental messages.
Using intentions with Healy
Healy reads and analyses our field, finding anything that doesn’t resonate with the statement eg. incoherent thoughts, subconscious limiting beliefs, reactive patterns and programs which block our goals and dreams. Ken Close describes Healy as “The bridge between the quantum field of information and the biological and physical fields of matter”. When using the blue app (Resonance analysis) we ideally should be centred, focused and sending an intention out for our desired outcome. This can be a thought or spoken out loud. Two of the apps to use written intention with are the Coaching app and Aura App.
How to Write Intentions
Statements should be:
- Specific – be detailed and clear, the most successful intenders never leave their health, relationships, finances or life’s purpose to chance
- positively phrased – I attract…
- present tense – I am statements
- feelings focused – ie how wonderful will it feel once this intention has manifest. Centre yourself and drop from your head space into your heart space.
- rehearse the outcome as if it has already happened – practice all the steps you need inside your head first, so your embody that outcome (imagine what it looks, feels, smells, and tastes like), even before you’ve achieved it.

- Intention is endlessly abundant.
- There is no scarcity in the universal invisible world of Spirit.
- We become what we think about.
- It is all about having an inner picture of abundance, thinking in unlimited ways, being open to the guidance that intention provides when you are in a state of rapport with it – and then being in a state of ecstatic gratitude and awe for how this whole thing works.
7. Be Receptive
- The universal mind is ready to respond to anyone who recognises their true relationship with it.
- Stay connected and know you’ll receive all that this power is capable of offering.
- The nature of the universal mind is peaceful.
Activating Your Connection to the Power of Intention
Dr Wayne Dyer indicates that the process takes place in four stages –
- Discipline – building strong habits and realign with your body. Do the things you know you should do (i.e. exercise, eat well etc). Live with integrity to your ideal self!
- Wisdom – combine wisdom with discipline as you harmonise your mind (thoughts/intellect) and feelings with the work of your body.
- Love – loving what you do and doing what you love.
- Surrender – this is the place of intention – your body and your mind are no longer running the show.
