Rebalancing our Natural Cycles

Our life is profoundly influenced by the phases of the moon, the sun and the earth (lunar, solar, circadian and meridian cycles). The frequencies of these celestial bodies determine our bodies, our emotions and perhaps our destiny since the moment of our birth.

Most of us today are leading lives that are moving too fast and causing us to drift away from our natural rhythms. Our body and our mind are sensing these conflicts and many of us experience physical and emotional imbalances.

With the Healy Natural Cycle program group, we can address these challenges by bringing our lives back into alignment with the natural cycles and flow. The Healy Natural Cycle programs contain completely new frequencies, developed and compiled by Nuno Nina, the creator of the Healy Gold Cycle.

Trigger Dates

The application of the Natural Cycle program must begin on so-called trigger dates (e.g. a change of seasons, an equinox, etc.), when ideal energetic conditions occur in the solar and lunar cycles. At the beginning it is also necessary to determine the organ meridian with which the application should be started. These calculations are conveniently and automatically performed by the HealAdvisor Natural Cycle module, which also reminds the user at the right time for the application when the organ of a particular meridian is active.

Drinking a glass of pure water 30 and 15 minutes prior to the meridian activation program and 15 minutes afterwards will optimally prepare you to use the frequency programs.

In the first weeks of a Natural Cycle, the daily stabilisation program is applied. When the stabilising effect becomes noticeable (easy and refreshed waking up, no problems with bowel movements, timely and easy falling asleep), you switch to the stabilising program according to the solar cycle. The HealAdvisor Natural Cycle module adjusts this automatically as well.

Likewise, the HealAdvisor Natural Cycle module determines the respective change to the next organ on the Organ Clock; the application takes place each Tuesday and Friday. If the predetermined time for an organ falls within the usual sleeping time, you can skip this session.

Natural Cycle should also be terminated on a trigger date as soon as you feel that you are in harmony with your natural cycle. The calculation of this date is also performed by the HealAdvisor Natural Cycle module.
You can start a Natural Cycle protocol again on each trigger date; Nuno Nina recommends repeating it at least twice a year.

Get in Tune with Nature in Five Easy Steps – Setting up

Step 1
Determine your location. Natural forces and their interactions depend on where you are on the planet.

Step 2
Set the trigger date. The appropriate starting points for applying the Healy Natural Cycle are solstices, equinoxes, and the changing of the seasons. The end of a Natural Cycle must also be on a trigger date.

Step 3
The choice of day and time. With the help of Natural Cycle and based on your location, determine the exact date and time for the start of your Natural Cycle protocol.

Step 4
Determine the phase of the moon. The moon phase is important for the Natural Cycle. The HealAdvisor app will help you with this as well.

Step 5
Determine the right frequency programs. Based on the data collected by the HealAdvisor app in steps 1 to 4, we can now determine which organ is active in the organ clock at the selected time of day and select the right frequency program for it.

A Natural Cycle frequency session consists of two parts: 18 minutes of activation and 30 minutes of stabilisation.

Basic Protocol – What to expect

Once you have the start date… follow the apps dates, times and programs. TIP – put a reminder in your phone as it’s easy to miss these. You should aim to finish on another trigger date.

  1. 30 mins before – drink 1 cup of water
  2. 15 mins before – drink 1 cup water
  3. Run the activation program (organ/meridian) for 18 mins
  4. Drink another glass of water straight after
  5. Run stabilisation program for 30 mins (daily option until in sync with cycles, then run solar)

Tips

  1. If a program suggests you to run a program in the middle of your sleep time, you can run it 12hrs later at the PM hour instead of the AM.
  2. The order of the programs go clockwise.
  3. Put a reminder of the time in your phone, I find the program reminders are too easily missed.
  4. If you miss an optimal start date or want to start immediately, the PDF and video below allow you to work out what to use when.
  5. Use the daily stabilisation if your cycles are really out (wake up tired, not pooping in the morning etc). It can take 4 weeks to get back in alignment with your cycle, which means then you can switch to the solar stabilisation. Until your cycle is aligned, stick to daily stabilisation.
  6. Run the cycle twice a week, Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday. The body needs the space to rest.
  7. If you accidentally run the wrong program, start from the next correct time and date.
  8. You can stop when your cycle is aligned.
  9. Suggested time is to run for 2 months, take a month off and then repeat.
  10. If you are travelling and wanting to minimise jet lag, there are travel protocol suggestions here.
  11. Natural cycle 1 has 12 activation programs and natural cycle 2 has the 2 stabilisation programs.
  12. Not drinking enough water stresses the body.
  13. Sungazing first thing in the morning and going to bed at the same time will help will help reset your body clock and balance hormones.

Program Descriptions

Program name Description
03:00-05:00am 寅

Lung

Good for – lung detox and sleep
The Lung meridian is called the “Master of Qi”, meaning that it can balance the flow of biological energy and breath in the whole body. It supports the cells as they engage in the energetic exchange of taking in oxygen and releasing waste. The time of regeneration for this important qi modulating meridian is between 3am and 5am. The distribution of qi and ying allows a good lymphatic and energetic flow that happens in the middle of the night when the body is in a very passive or Yin state. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, the lungs are the first organ to “wake up”. It is believed to be an ideal time to meditate, as the basis of meditation is a slow and deep breath.

05:00-07:00am 卯

Large Intestine

Good for – Waking up, moving, mediating
The Large Intestine meridian is called the “Water Purifier” since it supports elimination of waste during the day. The large intestine regulates the health of skin, joints and mucosa and regenerates every morning between 5am and 7am. This particular time is very important to rebalance our microbiome and redistribute fluids that will be then eliminated during the day or reabsorbed as hydration. The large intestine peak (between 5AM and 7AM) is thought to be when you should wake up and start moving… This is the best time to empty the bowels, because the organ is functioning at its optimal strength and maximum waste can be expelled. If this happens on a regular basis, it’s a strong indicator that you are in flow with the daily cycle. A great time to drink water.

07:00-09:00am 辰

Stomach

Good for – Workout walk, digest
The Stomach meridian is also called the “Great Granary” or grain storage due to its connection with ingested food. It is not only very important to balance digestion, but also supports good sight and eye coordination as well as alertness. The stomach needs to regenerate every morning between 7am and 9am and if well reactivated, it produces enough yang energy to maintain a good body temperature. It is the optimal time of the day to eat as the energy of the stomach is at its maximum and also a perfect time to go for a walk.

09:00-11:00am 巳

Spleen

Good for – Work and better concentration
The Spleen meridian relates to Yi or “Thought and Memory” and is traditionally associated with assimilation. It plays a role in regulating GuQi or digestive energy, allowing a long-lasting energy supply for the day. The spleen energy is regenerated every day between 9am to 11am. During this time, it is important to allow the energy to flow from the inside to the outside and not vice versa, therefore heavy meals are to be avoided. The spleen is thought to be linked to the stomach, which is in charge of receiving food and drink before ultimately fermenting them. If you have not eaten, the spleen is unable to perform its function well and you may experience energy breakdown. Of course you can always eat at any time, but we want to work in harmony with the body systems. This is a period of great concentration and its ideal for work.

11:00-13:00pm 午

Heart

Good for – Eat main meal and walk
The Heart meridian is considered the body’s “Emperor Spirit”, the source of consciousness and pure self. The typical state of vacuity dear to the Taoists and Buddhists is historically represented by the empty resonant heart, devoid of stress and passion. The opportunity to empty the heart and brain and favor the transit of energy to the digestive organs is every day between 11am and 1pm. This short break for the brain allows the Heart meridian to promote balance of cognitive and energetic functions. Because the heart represents peacefulness, it’s essential to reduce stress during this period. This is a good time to take a break, walk, eat your main meal and relax. At this time it is not advisable to exercise intensely or stay in a very hot environment.

13:00-15:00 未

Small Intestine

Good for – Digestion, short nap, work
The Small Intestine meridian is the seat of “Fire” and digestive energy. It is in the small intestine that the energy for attention and concentration is produced. During this part of the day the Yang Qi has an increased opportunity to circulate in order to better assimilate food and transform it into GuQi or the energy from food and drinks. The regeneration time for the Small Intestine meridian is every day between 1pm to 3pm. This is an important phase, because you are digesting lunch so you should avoid heavy or mentally stressful work. During the first part of this schedule, you can still eat. It’s the perfect time to take a short nap.

15:00-17:00 申

Bladder

Good for – Work or study
The Bladder meridian is thought to balance both the output of fluids and the external flow of energy in the nerves. The Bladder meridian in fact produces the largest distribution of qi along the spine and from the head to the toes. The regeneration time for the Bladder meridian is every day between 3pm to 5pm. It’s the best time to do the most important and challenging tasks on your schedule such as studying and focused work. You need to be well nourished and properly hydrated to carry you through the day.

17:00-19:00 酉

Kidneys

Good for – Exercise, light dinner
The Kidney meridian is called the “Root of Life”, as water is its element and the most vital component of life and youth. It is the storage of dense energy called Jing, the type of less-flowing energy that constitutes glands and tissues. A loss of Jing is visible through a lower quality of hair, bones and teeth. Between 5pm and 7pm the Kidney meridian can be calmed through the use of juices, activated water or a warm non-caffeinated beverage. It’s believed that the kidney is in charge of containing Chi, and it’s directly connected with the bladder. Together, they excrete unwanted waste materials within the body. This is an extremely important process to gain electrolytic balance – part of Nuno Nina’s concept.
It is when we start to feel the energy reducing and the tiredness arriving. Good for light exercise and a light dinner.

19:00-21:00 戌

Pericardium

Good for – Light reading and foot massage
The Pericardium meridian supports the microcirculation of qi through the body’s vascular system. Due to the daily chrono-biorhythm, the effect of the qi in the periphery begins to travel towards the inner organs at 7pm, thus allowing for an inner energetic nourishment of dense organs. The pericardium is believed to be the heart’s protector, the serous membrane that protects it. This is the ideal time to do a practice that helps you relax and induce sleep, such as meditation or light reading. Don’t forget: eat light during this period!

21:00-23:00 亥

Triple Heater

Good for – Peaceful socialisation
The Triple Heater meridian is comparable to the metabolism in the western view. A healthy triple heater helps maintain a normal temperature and regulate a good balance between O2 and CO2 through breathing. The Triple Heater meridian reduces its functions between 9pm and 11pm and is closely connected to various organs and the viscera for their protection and management. A typical sign of the need to recuperate is when you yawn during this 2-hour period. The triple heater refers to the organ system as a whole as a whole, and this period is thought to be when it generates the most amount of heat. During this time (a little earlier in winter, a little later in summer), we should be falling asleep.

23:00-01:00am

Gallbladder

Good for – cell repair
The Gallbladder meridian is called the “General” and thought to be the organ of focused energy. It is related to brain function, magnetic energy (from iron metabolism) and willpower. It is thought to be related to energetically balanced eyes and reflexes. The regeneration time for the Gallbladder meridian is between 11pm and 1am and the beginning of cell repair. During the night, there’s the gallbladder peak that precedes the liver peak, as these two organs are closely linked. At this time, sleep is very important or we may deplete these two organs’ energy reserves.

01:00-03:00am 丑

Liver

Good for – sleep, detox liver and blood
The Liver meridian is the organ of “Life and Energy” and needs a restful night’s sleep to recover. The liver is hosting both the Wei Qi (defensive energy) and the blood. Both get purified during the night around 1am and 3am and is at maximum detoxifcation capacity. The Liver meridian also controls the healthy qi of tendons and blood circulation in the eyes and head.
One of the most important 2-hour interval is between 1AM and 3AM, which is when the liver is believed to be cleansing the blood. During this time frame, the body begins to prepare for Chi to move outward from the body again. Those who prescribe to the Chinese body clock believe it’s important to give your liver as little to process as possible during this period so it can focus on its several cleansing functions. This means eating your last meal of the day early and making sure it’s light.
